Volunteer Crew Members Frequently Asked Questions

What makes an outstanding Crew Member?
Great physiology and unlimited energy. Someone who pushes themselves beyond his or her comfort level, is a team player, good listener, and takes ownership of the job.

Being on time and where needed is very important, as is being prepared and informed to support seminar participants with their questions. An awareness regarding the main Seminar Room and Darren Jacklin's tempo, and knowing the process going on in the room.

Each volunteer position can be an expression of yourself. This is a win / win experience, as you provide your support and fulfill your responsibilities, you can gain from your experience as a volunteer and grow personally.

Take care of yourself by drinking lots of water, having snacks when needed, taking breaks, and remember to.... BREATHE and have FUN!!

We appreciate that volunteers understand Darren Jacklin's Seminars are not a place to conduct your own private business by selling or recruiting people for your business interests, products or services.

What is recommended to pack when I crew a Corporate Training Seminar or
Public Event?
We suggest that you bring the following:
  • Sweater or jacket for the main Seminar Room
  • Snacks, water bottle, spending money
  • Backpack/Bag for personal belongings to keep in the Crew Area.
Remember to leave your valuables at home. We will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
What do outstanding Crew Members wear?
Your appearance is very important. Remember you are representing Darren Jacklin Seminars Inc. and you are also a role model for the seminar participants, particularly those who will be attending an event for their first time.

Please bring and wear Business Attire for All Corporate Training Seminars, Camps and  Public Seminars.
I turned in a Volunteer Crew Application and / or I applied on-line, but I haven't heard from anyone yet. Am I on the crew?
Your application is a request for a volunteer position. It is not a confirmation to crew any live event. You will be notified by telephone or email approximately 3-6 weeks before the event.
I'm on a wait list to crew a live event. When will I find out if I can crew it?
We'll contact you by telephone or email if we have any openings. All volunteer applications, including contact information and requested positions are kept on file as waiting lists.
What Positions will I have on crew?
Positions are chosen on site at the crew registration and crew meeting. There are plenty of jobs to choose from. You will not be doing the same thing day in and day out. And if you find yourself in a position that is not suitable for you please let us know and we will find a better spot for you.
I'm not sure of my position responsibilities. What do I do?
Consult the Youth Development or Corporate Training and Public Seminars Crew Members position descriptions. Ask your Crew Captain. Be resourceful and ask yourself, 'What is my outcome and what do I need to do to fulfill it?'
I don't feel qualified or good about my position and I'm afraid to ask for a different one.
We want to support you. Remember, you are here for your experience and to grow personally as well as to support Darren Jacklin and the Seminar participants. Maybe it's time for you to stretch yourself and step up to a new level in your life. If you're certain this is not the right position for you at this time, please ask the Crew Captain to help you determine a better one. We want to help you be the best you can be.
I'm given the same position time after time and I'm ready for something new, can I ask for a new one?
Absolutely! Step Up and tell us what position(s) or responsibilities interest you.
I saw a fellow Crew Member doing something or treating someone (or me) in a less than respectful way. I don't feel comfortable coming forward, but I feel like someone needs to know.
Remember, people are not their behaviors and we are all here to serve and grow. The best thing to do is approach the person directly. If not, ask the Crew Captain to help you.
Do we get to spend time with Darren Jacklin?
